Award-winning poet buys Cobble Hill condo for $1.15M

Medium 01434d6070bedd1125dc1d8b9e7d72d1 Jonathan Thirkield and Ema Yamashiro bought a 1,530-square-foot condo at 24 Strong Place in Cobble Hill from Samuel David Robinson for $1.15 million on July 28.

Unit #4 is part of 24 Strong Condo, a development built in 1904. It is located in the Cobble Hill Historic District.

Thirkield is a poet whose 2008 collection, The Waker's Corridor, was selected for the Walt Whitman Award, presented by the Academy of American Poets.

His poems have appeared in magazines such as WebConjunctions, New American Writing, the Colorado Review, 1913: a journal of forms, American Letters & Commentary and Verse.

He graduated from Wesleyan University and the University of Iowa's Writers' Workshop, where he was a Truman Capote Fellow.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 25 condo sales in Cobble Hill in the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $675,000.
