Mechanical engineer buys home in Stuyvesant Heights

Scott Snelling bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 600 Hancock St. in Stuyvesant Heights from Anthony Rhodes and Wanda D. Rhodes for $550,000 on Sept. 13.

The Rhodeses acquired the property in Dec. 2004. The 2,140-square-foot house was built in 1901.

Snelling is a mechanical and structural engineer at Hardesty & Hanover, LLC, an infrastructure engineering firm.

He attended Columbia University in New York.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 144 home sales in Stuyvesant Heights during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $310,000.
