Finance lawyer buys 7BD home in Brooklyn Heights for $3.5M

Medium c290d84953ad0fe4248d94e6e408c474 Douglas R. Urquhart and Jennifer E. Urquhart bought a seven-bedroom, three-bath home at 26 Willow St. in Brooklyn Heights from Elisabeth H. Elkind, Margaret E. Elkind Van Gelder, Samuel F. Elkind and Charlotte W. Elkind for $3.5 million on July 18.

The Elkinds acquired the property in Sept. 2010. The 3,910-square-foot house was built in 1901 in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District.

Mr. Urquhart is a partner at the banking and finance practice of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP. He co-authored Reorganizing Failing Businesses and The Law and Practice of Restructuring the UK and US .

He earned his LL.B. from Leicester University and also attended College of Law, Guildford.

Ms. Elisabeth Elkind is a librarian at the New York Public Library, Special Formats Processing. Previously, she was a librarian with the Theatre Division of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

She attended New York University, Simmons Graduate School of Library & Information Science and Brown University.

Ms. Van Gelder is a substitute teacher at Montgomery County Public Schools. Previously, she worked as a recruitment coordinator at the career center at American University in Washington, D.C.

She studied at the Bank Street College of Education and Wesleyan University.
