Portfolio manager spends $2.975M for Brooklyn Heights 5BD

Medium 0191d144b0b3858efe90da9d8964b8f9 Howard and Catherine Shainker bought a five-bedroom, five-bath home at 36 Joralemon St. in Brooklyn Heights from Abraham M. Dweck and Robert M. Levine for $2.975 million.

Dweck and Levine paid $2.325 million for the property in Sept. 2005. The 3,560-square-foot home was built in 2003 in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District.

Mr. Shainker is a portfolio manager at Third Point, a global investment management firm based in New York.

After graduating from Wesleyan University, he went on to pursue an M.B.A. at Harvard Business School.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 103 home sales in Brooklyn Heights during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $580,000.
