Emily Porro and Jose Porro bought a home at 24 Bay Ridge Place in Brooklyn for $585,000 from Charles A. Hudson on Oct. 29.

The 1,400-square-foot house was built in 1910 in the Bay Ridge neighborhood.

Ms. Porro is vice president at Sloane & Company, a communications firm that specializes in corporate and financial public relations.

She previously was a manager for public relations at The Bond Market Association. She also was an assistant director at Gavin Anderson & Co.

She received a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Scranton.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 4,558 home sales in Brooklyn during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $450,000.
